The Healing Powers that Music Offers

When Rep. Gabrielle Giffords returned to Washington for this year’s State of the Union address, it was clear she had made a dramatic recovery after being shot in the head a year ago. Her family credits music therapy for helping to get her voice back.

Besides promoting relaxation and reducing stress, music therapy has been shown to affect sleep patterns, improve stroke patients’ memories and decrease the amount of sedation medication needed for some patients. Music is an integral part of people’s lives all over the world and is a universal language that has inherent abilities to stimulate the mind, body and emotions. During both World Wars, doctors and nurses used the beneficial properties of music on patients suffering physical and emotional traumas.

I did some research online and found the website of Dr. Harry Henshaw www.enhancedhealing.com. He works with music therapy to help heal his patients. Easy assess to music care. Please check it out!
